Elyse graduated from Purdue University with a Bachelors of Liberal Arts degree in Movement and Sports Sciences while being a member of the Varsity Swim Team. After 15 years of competitive swimming and sustaining several injuries, she decided to continue her education in injury prevention and rehabilitation at Sheridan College. She recently graduated with High Honours in Athletic Therapy (Bachelor of Applied Health Sciences).
Throughout the Athletic Therapy program, Elyse had the opportunity to work with numerous teams including the University of Toronto’s Men’s Varsity Rugby Team and the Varsity Swim Team. Elyse supported the Varsity Swim Team during the season and continued on with them to win both Provincial and National titles. She has also worked with multiple levels of rugby and football leagues encompassing Minor, High School and Varsity Teams, OCAA Level Athletics and is currently the team therapist for the Oakville Blades Junior A Hockey Team.
Elyse feels that continuing education is very important and since graduation has become a Certified Provider of Functional Movement Systems. She is looking forward to taking courses in concussion prevention and management, as well as courses focussing on manual therapy techniques in order to better help individuals to return to a healthy and active lifestyle.
