Jamie Corkal
Physiotherapist
MSc(PT)
Jamie received his Master of Science in Physical Therapy in 2016 from Queen’s University. Prior to completing his physical therapy degree, he obtained a Master of Science in Exercise Physiology (2013) and Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology (2009) at the University of Western Ontario. As a reflection of his education, Jamie employs a holistic approach to rehabilitation and considers the priorities of the person in addition to the area of injury. His practice emphasizes the unique circumstances of each individual’s injury and considers physiotherapy a collaborative approach with patients.
Throughout his physical therapy career, Jamie has worked collaboratively with family and sports medicine physicians, orthopaedic surgeons, physiatrists, neurologists, audiologists and neuro-optometrists to optimize patient care and outcomes. He believes recovery and well-being is predicated on communication between all health care professionals involved in the individual’s treatment plan. Jamie is capable of providing a breadth of treatment options for people who require physical therapy for sports injuries, musculoskeletal pain, post-surgical rehabilitation, hip and knee replacements, complex and chronic pain, dizziness and vestibular disorders and post-concussion rehabilitation.
Jamie has a love of sport, music and the arts. While living in Kelowna, Jamie was an offensive coordinator and quarterback coach for the Kelowna Owls high school football team. While not currently coaching, Jamie enjoys spending time outdoors with his fiancee Ashley and their Australian Shepherd, Kansas. Additionally, he loves to play the guitar and piano when he isn’t busy chasing around or being herded by Kansas.
